Q: Do you accept returns?
A: We want our customers to be as happy as we are with our products. If there is a problem with your order, please send us an email and we will do our best to work out a solution.
Q: What is the shelf life of your soap?
A: Handcrafted soap usually just gets better with age. The scent of some essential oils will fade after 4-5 months. However, the soap itself will be cleansing indefinitely.
Q: What does “saponified” mean?
A: In our soap, you’ll see “saponified” oils in the ingredients. So what does saponified mean? The word “saponified” refers to a substance that has been changed by an alkali and turned into soap and glycerin. This is done by mixing lye and an oil, such as coconut oil, together and allowing the saponification (fat to soap) process to take place. So what happens to the lye? See the “Is there lye in your soap?” question below.
Q: Is there lye in your soap?
A: Nope, but there was. Lye is used in the production of our soap but is not contained in our soap when you purchase it. All soap is the product of a chemical reaction between lye and fatty acids, called saponification, which produces soap and glycerin. This process takes between 12 to 48 hours to complete. We cure our soap for 6-8 weeks to allow ample time for all of the lye to be fully consumed by the saponification process. Curing the soap also allows any excess water to evaporate making for a harder, longer lasting bar of soap.
Q: How is your soap made?
A: We use the cold process method for making soap. By using the cold process method and making all of our soap in-house and by hand, we’re able to have full control over the quality of every bar we produce.
Q: When will I receive my order?
A: We ship your products within 1-2 days of your order. Most orders are received within 4-6 days.
Q: Can I make a special request?
A: Absolutely! If you want a special order just send us an email and we can work out the details.
Q: How long does it take for back order items?
A: To ensure the quality of our soap it takes approximately 6 weeks for the curing process.
